The Peachtree Ridge Lions and Northview Titans took part in a scrimmage that featured the varsity teams for two quarters of action.
Lion’s running back Na’ceem Antenor rushed for touchdowns of 33 and 7 yards. Antenor’s 33-yard scamper were the first of 14 unanswered points by the Lions. Malik Staples added a 1-yard touchdown run with 1:38 left in the first quarter to give Peachtree Ridge a 14-0 lead.
Northview’s only points of the scrimmage came on a DJ Pearson to Issac Hart 17-yard touchdown pass with 8:55 left in the second quarter making it 14-7. Hart made the catch after the ball was deflected by a Peachtree Ridge defender around the goal line. Pearson finished 13-of-26 175 yards 1 TD.
Peachtree Ridge would add another touchdown run from Antenor (6 carries 79 yards 2 TD) and a 36-yard field goal in the final five minutes of the varsity portion for the 24-7 victory.
Lions quarterback Chance Thrasher was 14-of-23 166 yards with an interception while budding receiver De’Angelo Gibbs caught 6 balls for 76 yards.
Peachtree Ridge opens the regular season August 29th at home against Archer. Northview will open their regular season hosting Duluth on August 29th.
