The JV squads lead off the spring football game between county opponents Forest and North Marion. North Marion won last season’s spring and regular season games. In the 2013 spring game the varsity went first followed by the JV. In 2014 they flipped it.
North Marion’s JV handled Forest 32-0 after their half.
In the varsity half North Marion needed only one play. Rising junior Freddie Swain caught an 89-yard touchdown pass from Caleb Seiler in the third quarter, as North Marion won 7-0 in the varsity portion of the game.
For North Marion, it was the first time a Stephen Field’s led team took the field in a game situation since Craig Damon moved on. The Colts have made the playoffs 14 straight seasons. Field took over this year coming from South Florida.
James Allen rushed for over 100 yards in the game showing signs from his sophomore season. Allen is now a senior on a team with Cameron Mackey and Jack Reed among others on the radar with recruiting services.
