Georgia Jets End 2012 With First Non-Winning Season

The Georgia Jets had compiled an overall winning record (29-5), three playoffs appearances, division and minor league championships in their history. 2012 started with the outlook of a promising year. For the Jets it did not end that way. After a loss to the Georgia Canes, the Jets were 1-1-1 in the standings and the focus was not on the field, shortly later it would be confirmed they were grounded. The 2012 GDFL regular season is coming to a close and with that the Jets 2012 season, which they landed weeks ago. The Jets had the support winning over the Atlanta-Fulton County Rams to open the season. That win would prove to be their last as they tied their “rival” Atlanta Chiefs 6-6 the following week and lost to an “explosive” Georgia Canes’ team.

Georgia Jets have first non-winning season.

The end to the season marks the first in Jets history they failed to have a winning season, division championship and playoff appearance. Many of the Georgia Jets are playing with the Georgia Knights. The Knights are 2-1 in reported games since the Jets stopped playing. The most recent win for the Knights was a 24-0 won this past weekend against the Georgia Falcons. Jets ownership has still not responded at attempts for comment, so in addition no information on the 2013 plans are available.
