Week 2 in the GDFL featured the Oklahoma City Diamondbacks and the Oklahoma Thunder as the Game of the Week. The Diamondbacks would score 30 unanswered points to start the second half coming away with the 40-23 win sending a message that the Thunder are not the only GDFL team in the state that is pretty good. The Thunder were the 2011 GDFL National Runner Up and Impact Conference Champions, loss their first ever regular season loss in team history. Video footage of this game can be seen here.

Buckeye Bearcats 28 Ohio Golden Knights 27: The Bearcats were awarded a touchdown in the game but evidence has circulated on that the ball clearly hit the ground.
Palmetto Havoc 20 Hilton Head Sharks 14: Havoc QB Darren Holmes threw touchdowns passes of 48 yards to Rickie Knarich and 30 yards to James Tisdale to lead the Havoc passing game. Lester Griffin lead a powerful rushing attack by going over 100 yards before leaving the game in the third quarter with an injury. Anthony Green also scored on rushing touchdown. Palemetto’s defense stepped up big when it had to led by Tremaine Hunter who snatched 2 interceptions. Chris Mckoy sealed the Havoc win with a late 4th quarter interception that ended the Sharks final threat.
“Well being this is only our second game with no scrimages or preseason games. were learning how to play as a team and play as one with no egos. Were learning that we all have roles as part of the team from starters to special teams’, head coach Roc Frierson said.
“Our overall team performance was good and our defense stepped up big with timely takeaways. The O-line is learning how to block as a unit. When we get a lead we have to learn to keep it and don’t let up”, Frierson added.
Indianapolis Tornados 82 Springfield Headhunters 0: The Tornados rang up their second consecutive shutout to begin the season. The Tornados have outscored their opponents 100-0 through the first two games.
