GDFL Kicking Off Week 2

The GDFL will enter Week 2 with 36 games on the docket.  The GDFL Game of the Week features the OKC Diamondbacks against the Oklahoma Thunder. The Thunder were the GDFL National Runner Up in 2011 and have championship aspirations again this season. Both teams are coming off impressive season opening wins. The Thunder rocked the Oklahoma Warriors 58-25 while the Diamondbacks shutout the Louisiana Spartans 59-0.

GDFL Game Broadcasts:

Atlanta-Fulton County Rams (1-0) vs Georgia Jets (0-0)– The Rams are off to a solid start after picking up their first ever GDFL victory last week. The Jets will be opening their season with some key returning players and some added depth to the team. This contest will feature Rams head coach Jerome Davis going against his former team for the third time. Davis is 1-1 in the previous two meetings. You can hear this contest beginning at 7pm right here. Total Sports Coverage will also simulcast this contest.

Indianapolis Tornados (1-0) vs Springfield Headhunters (0-0)– The Tornados have proven to be successful in their minor league football history. After making a deep run in the playoffs last season the Tornados have retooled for the 2012 season. You can listen to this Tornados home game right here.

Oklahoma Thunder (1-0) vs OKC Diamondbacks (1-0)– The Thunder Radio Network covered all of their games last season. You can listen to Thunder football right here.

Other GDFL Games of Interest:

Ohio Valley Golden Knights (1-0) vs Buckeye Bearcats (1-0)– a pair of undefeated teams looking to continue their strong start to the season. The battle in Ohio should be yield interesting results.

Tennessee Huricanes (1-0) vs St. Louis Bulldogs (1-0)- The Hurricanes are eyeing another trip to the playoffs while the Bulldogs are looking to continue their improvement from last week’s win and be contenders in the playoffs later in the season.

Florida Falcons vs South Georgia Sting– This early season Sun Belt Division contest could play a vital role in who wins the division later in the season. The Sting were 2-0 against the Falcons last season.

Palmetto Havoc (1-0) vs Hilton Head Sharks (1-0)- Both teams are coming in off-season opening wins. The Sharks pasted the Bluffton Buffaloes 64-0 while the Havoc downed their rival Beaufort Hornets 20-18 with a game winning touchdown pass in the closing moments of the game.
