The North Georgia Gladiators came in on a mission as they entered the 2012 NDFL Playoffs. They were looking at a first round opponent that they laid 52 points on during the regular season while yielding none to the West Georgia Jaguars. Much of the same would take place in the first round of the playoffs.
Quarterback Joey Vicary tossed three touchdown passes and ran for two more in the game leading the Gladiators to a 35-0 halftime lead. Former Auburn running back Bo Harris, Chris Young, Matt Mazzanti and Mo Issak added offensive touchdown an Rashud Arthur and Jermaine Walker powered the defense to its seventh shutout of the season.
In the second half special teams and defense got into the scoring act, Mo Issak returned a punt 60 yards for a touchdown and Barry Lennon returned an interception 55 yards for a touchdown. Mo Issak scored the final touchdown of the day on the final play of the day running in as time expired to give the Gladiators a 78-0 win and a NDFL league record for points scored in a games (playoff or regular season).
North Georgia will face the Georgia Titans in the second round,. This will be the first meeting this season between the two teams. The Titans shutout the Georgia Falcons 14-0 in the first round to advance.
