Delano Spencer is an athlete with a decorated athletic check list dating back to grade school. The rising senior at Greater Atlanta Christian is the schools starting quarterback and shooting guard and tosses it around the mound as well.
Spencer began his high school learning at Parkview (Lilburn, GA) and was on the football, basketball and baseball teams for the Panthers. As a freshman, Spencer sat behind Kalik Barnes and Jack Esmond on the quarterback depth chart and was a starting guard on the basketball team. As a Junior at GAC, Spencer was the starting signal caller on the gridiron for a team that went 8-2 yet missed the state playoffs and started on the basketball team that went 25-6 losing by two points in the Elite Eight of the 2A state tournament in Georgia.
This summer he is running with the Southern Select squad and seeking to refine his game. Spencer carried the scoring load for much of the day as Southern Select defeated the Dallas Seawolves 64-58 over the weekend in basketball action. Spencer had partner Frank Booker on his side down the stretch for the victory.
