Exclusive Video: Ryan Dillard Talks About His Switch To Southern Cal

Ryan Dillard of Buford (GA) talks about how he kept his options open after signing with Yale and by doing so he will be attending the University of Southern California to play football this fall (Dillard will enroll in summer school in June). Dillard is an under the radar player that did not get the acclaim by recruiting services that he thought his on field, academics and clean background warranted.

The biggest knock on Dillard in recruiting circles and with some schools was his size. When you watch him on film he plays so low that you really cannot detect his true height of 5’10”.

When asked about that Dillard said, “Yea I know. I now realize I didn’t have to play as low as I did and I’ll adjust at the next level, no problem”.

Well there you have it and no matter where you are you can hear Ryan Dillard making plays as a USC Trojan as the school has agreed to a new national radio deal as Joe Lucia of Awful Announcing reports.  Dillard and Detroit Lions All-Pro wide receiver Calvin “Megatron” Johnson, who played his college ball at Georgia Tech and his high school ball at Sandy Creek (GA), are cousins.

We’ll have more on Dillard’s trek to Southern Cal this week. Dillard is a prime example of one that handled their business on the playing field, in the classroom and on the recruiting trail despite all odds.

Did USC Land A Gem? Ryan Dillard Headed to Southern Cal

Buford (GA) All-World DB Ryan Dillard signed with Yale on signing day. Things did not workout afterwards and Dillard found his way to Southern Cal . Dillard said he kept his options open and because of  that and his pedigree he was able to play football for a football program that “wanted me”  .

All American Ryan Dillard going to Southern Cal

Dillard was a Semper Fidelis All-American and won two Georgia 2A State Championships at Buford in his three years. The Ryan Dillard Interview of him revealing these developments will be posted soon on Total Sports Coverage soon.

Camden County’s J.J. Green Gives UGA Verbal.

J.J. Green has been doing it in Kingsland, Ga since he was a freshmen. Freshmen normally don’t start for Jeff Herron at the Wing-T powerhouse on the Georgia Coast, Camden County. You have freshmen and then you have J.J. Green. Chris Gillman Stadium is a spectacle in itself with tailgating and all as you arrive on the campus. However when J.J. Green crosses the goal line in his chosen fashion, rather via run, pass, return or kick return, it really lights up.

J.J. Green scores on a 10 yard run vs Windsor Forest in 2010.

Miami Central was in town one night a year after Camden County won their last 5A State Championship (footnote: Miami Central will play at 5A 2011 Champion Grayson in 2012-Grayson is now in 6A) loaded with talent, man could Cato throw the football-heck the Rockets can play! J.J. Green however could return kicks and when he broke wide open down the left side you kinda knew this sophomore was the deal, why, because he was simply picking up where he left off as a freshman against a nationally respected out-of-state football team.

Green announced this week that he was going to attend the University of Georgia. For the Mr. All-Everything there is no telling where and what he will do for the Bulldog football team.

Green told Kipp Adams…

“I just committed to the University of Georgia,” Green said Monday afternoon. “I told Coach Richt, and he smiled and gave me a big hug.”

Hines Ward was the last that stepped in and did everything to win, is JJ Green that? Jacquez Green got the better of Hines in their Cocktail Party get-together. Hines was football, Jacquez was football and flare you had to have loved it. So now the nephew of Jacquez is going to be wearing silver britches just south of home in Jacksonville for a Cocktail Party get-together…aaaah man come it’s gonna fun coming up soon.

Wait hold up… there is still 2012 to play wake up… J.J. Green gets to rock Camden County Blue one more time for a shot at a 6A State Championship, could a South Georgia school such as Camden County claim the first ever 6A championship in Georgia? Region 1 pretty thick folks. Starting QB Brice Ramsey who is going to Georgia as well, will be back tossing it around to J.J. Green while kicking 50-odd yard field goals. Just watch those two-point conversions.

More on J.J. Green in the future, until then take a look at #5…
